“Spirit of Guernsey” responds to a 40` catamaran in difficulties, six miles south west of Guernsey

Wednesday 25th May 2016

Several calls were made to Guernsey Coastguard from the catamaran “Vaares” that she was low on fuel, had steering problems and required assistance. Despite Guernsey Coastguards best efforts, the yacht was making very little progress and was in difficulties. As no other vessel was able to go to “Vaares” assistance, a decision was made to dispatch the “Spirit of Guernsey” to tow the vessel to St Peter Port
