Belgium registered 12 metre vessel, “Lisana”

The St Peter Port Lifeboat was tasked at 04:18 this morning to go to the assistance of a Belgium registered 12 metre vessel, “Lisana” which had suffered engine failure and was unable to make sail, approximately 12 miles South of St Martin’s Point. 

The Spirit of Guernsey was alongside the casualty at 04:42 and took “Lisana in tow.  Arriving back at St Peter Port at 0546.

SJARS attended the vessel on arrival to assess the crew and render assistance.

St Peter Port Lifeboat was back on station at 06:15.

Lands End to John O’Groats

Local man Phil Martel and his daughter Jodie are joined by 2nd Coxswain Jason Norman and Assistant Mechanic Linden Galsworthy aboard our St Peter Port Lifeboat “Spirit of Guernsey”.

Phil will attempt to ride the 994 mile Lands End to John O’Groats between 9th – 17th September this year raising money for our Lifeboat Station.

Between 9th and 17th September this year, Phil will attempt to ride between Lands End to John O’ Groats. Phil will be raising money for the Local Lifeboat Station.

Avanti

St Peter Port Lifeboat - Guernsey Posted on 11th July 2017 by colin20th August 2017

The St Peter Port Lifeboat was tasked yesterday afternoon to go to the assistance of a 31’ vessel “Avanti” which was experiencing fuel problems, with 6 persons on board, 5 miles North of Guernsey. The Spirit of Guernsey was on exercise in the Little Russel when it was diverted to assist Avanti at 13:30. The lifeboat was on scene at 14:20 and took over casualty in tow, arriving safely back at St Peter Port at 14:55.

The veesel was then taken to number 1 Ro- Ro Ramp.
